CNMP Watch is a new web site made possible through the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) Research Foundation through a special EPA grant. CNMPs - or Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plans - have become in integral part of the regulatory permitting and environmental stewardship for large, and in some cases even medium and small, concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs). CNMP Watch is a component of NASDA's mission to represent the state departments of agriculture in the development, implementation, and communication of sound public policy and programs which support and promote the American agricultural industry, while protecting consumers and the environment. CNMP Watch takes a step further in providing valuable information to the agricultural industry as a whole, including federal and state government agencies, livestock producers, and agricultural service providers.

The development and maintenance of CNMP Watch includes staffers from CropLife America, SES, Inc and Doane Agricultural Services. The master plan for CNMP Watch calls for creating a road map to compliance for those involved in all sides of Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plan development and implementation. Special emphasis will be placed on assisting those professionals working to meet requirements for accreditation as Technical Service Providers (TSP).

CNMP Watch will provide news and information from around the U.S. to provide the most comprehensive information source possible about CNMPs. Because each state will have its own specific requirements, we will work to bring you the information you need to develop and deliver CNMPs to Confined Animal Feeding Operations. Not only will we provide news, information sources, and links to CNMP information, we will provide commentary on the twisting roadways of completing CNMPs, including navigating the process of becoming certified as a NRCS Technical Service Provider, certified to write CNMPs (or portions of them), and to see what other people are doing. CNMP Watch is also a source for federal and state agencies to monitor CNMP developments around the country, and to provide information that will help CNMP developers in their own states. CNMP Watch will utilize the Web to create what we think will be an invaluable linkage to every phase of CNMP. Over the coming months we will be adding functionality and new information to the various major topics across the top of this page.
